The Office of Motion Picture and Television Development (also known as the DC Film Office) is an agency within the District of Columbia government that markets and promotes the District as a premiere location for film and video production. Our objective is to attract feature film, television, video and commercial production to shoot on-location in the District, to position the District at the forefront of the motion picture industry, and to initiate and implement programs aimed at generating revenue and stimulating employment opportunities for District residents and businesses. The DC Film Office is a one-stop-shop for film permits, and manages the logistics, inter-agency coordination, and communications, for all film and television production activities in District of Columbia public space.
