Book Talk: The Investigator - Demons of the Balkan War
Retired Czech Commissioner Vladimir Dzuro shared his personal account of investigating war crimes during his book talk "The Investigator: Demons of the Balkan War" on September 19. One of his most memorable arrests was during Operation Little Flower, the arrest of the first war criminal, Slavko Dokmanovič, indicted by an international tribunal since the end of WWII.
Politics and Prose Bookstore was on hand to sell the book, which is a fascinating story of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and how investigators brought to justice some of the worst war criminals of the 20th century.
Ambassador Miloslav Stašek opened the event. Cultural Attaché Janwo Ska explained the legality of Dokmanovič's arrest during Operation Little Flower.
