Pianist Receives Standing Ovation

In regards to his ongoing career as a pianist, Kalhous gained critical acclaim in the United States and Europe for his wide-ranging repertoire and adventurous programming spanning over three centuries. As a soloist, he has performed with the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK, Prague Philharmonia, Israel Symphony Orchestra, to name a few. As a recitalist and chamber musician, he performed at the Prague Spring Festival, Gilmore Keyboard Festival, Czech Philharmonic Chamber Music Series, among others. Kalhous regularly performs, lectures, and teaches masterclasses.

 

He has recorded for Czech Radio and Television, and has written and produced programs for Prague’s Classic FM Radio. Kalhous studied at the Prague Conservatory, the Hochschule für Musik in Vienna, Rubin Academy of Music at Tel-Aviv University, and Yale University. He received his Doctorate of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from Northwestern University.
