Kids Euro Fest: Even Mice Belong in Heaven

The Embassy of the Czech Republic presented the beautifully animated film "Even Mice Go to Heaven" directed by Denisa Grimmová and Jan Bubeníček as part of the European Union in the United States Kid Euro Fest!

 

The film is a magical story of friendship between a mouse named Whizzy and a fox named Whitebelly, who travel through heaven together after an unfotunate accident. The directors state that the film is about overcoming differences, obstacles, anger and fear - as well as dealing with complicated topics like the loss of a loved one. 

 

Public Relations Specialist Mary Fetzko opened the show talking about the stop-motion animation, shot over the course of three years with animators not only from the Czech Republic but also France, Poland, and Slovakia.

 

The film garnered two Czech Lion Awards for Best Animated Film and Best Music.
